Web Development Instructor

Inspire the next generation of developers

Time Commitment~30 hours total
Duration10 weeks (Summer 2026)
Compensation$25–30/hour
FormatVirtual with 2-hour weekly live sessions

You'll teach two parallel tracks: Web Explorer Track (students new to web development) and Advanced Track (students with prior coding experience working on complex projects). Curriculum is developed but open to instructor input. Final pacing and project scope negotiable based on your experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead weekly 2-hour live coding sessions
  • Guide students through capstone projects (local business websites)
  • Provide feedback on assignments and track student progress
  • Answer questions via Discord/email between sessions
  • Flag students needing additional support

Requirements

  • 1+ year teaching or mentoring experience (formal or informal)
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience building responsive websites
  • Comfortable with Git/GitHub workflows
  • Available for weekly 2-hour sessions (weekday evenings or Saturdays)
  • Patient and skilled at explaining technical concepts to beginners

Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching high school students or youth programs
  • Familiarity with VS Code, GitHub Pages, or Netlify
  • Based in Windsor-Essex region
  • Previous work with nonprofits or community programs
